How to treat other people
How should we deal with other people? Words of wisdom from the manual for living – the Bible – tell us how: …warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men… 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15.
Some people need warning. The grumbling fault-finder, the disorderly or disobedient. They need to be guided into truth. The lazy, the rebellious, those who are not living right. They need warning of the danger of wolves. As we would warn a child of hazards.
Some people need encouragement. The easily discouraged, the fragile and fainthearted. May we pray for one another and be kind. We must encourage one another – all the more as we see the day approaching. People need hope and courage. Hebrews 3:13 tells us to encourage one another DAILY.
Some people are weak, tempted to sin, and inclined to give in. May we give them support and care for them. Lift them up. Bear their burdens. Do your part…
Possibly the hardest of all is the call to be patient toward all men!
