Win People to Jesus
The most powerful way to win people is to love them. Just being a great neighbour and friend to people. (Blanche, Alderley, Qld)
The world needs the truth.
A- Ask God- He can do anything.
B- Believe- He can be trusted.
C- Come to God- He loves you.
(Chas & Cath, Joslin, SA)
Endurance: the weather test. Are you a sailboard Christian- making progress in the Lord if the winds are favourable? Or are you a tug boat Christian- plowing right ahead even though the gales are against you?
Before the coming of Christ there is to be a powerful delusion- a falling away from the truth (2 Thess. 2:3), false "signs and wonders" (v.9) (Matt. 24:24), and a danger of receiving "another spirit" (2 Cor. 11:2-4). We must hold fast to the preaching and teaching of God's Word, and the Gospel of repentance and true faith. We must stand for the truth.
If what we do is not Bible-based, then it may not be of God. It is important for us to be sure that our life and church fits with the Bible pattern. Is our preaching and practice Biblical? I want the Holy Spirit to have absolute control of my life, and to enjoy His blessing, in a way that lines up with the Bible. I want to display what the Bible says are evidences of the Holy Spirit- His fruits and gifts. We are told to test the spirits (1 Jn. 4:1-3, Acts 17:11). The gift of discerning of spirits is a spiritual gift in great need today, it seems.
"A big step towards a cashless society". The QuickLink Stored Value Card (SVC) carries a value of $500, and is fully reloadable. The SVC "Smart Card" system has been proven in Belgium- it has the potential to replace cash. Following trials in Newcastle, it is set to be introduced Australia-wide. (Newcastle Star, 15/11/95)
Tens of thousands of Sudanese Christian men, women, and children have been kidnapped and sold as slaves by government soldiers and Arab militias. The slaves, mostly children and young women are forced to provide agricultural labor, domestic work and sexual services against their will. Christian communities are forcibly dispersed and/or imprisoned. They have to surrender and submit to becoming Muslims or they are killed. One 27 year old mother, Ashai Angok Berjok was captured with her two daughters aged 4 and 9: "We were captured.. forced to walk seven days.. he raped me along the way.. used me as a concubine.. My owner made my husband pay 50 000 Sudanese ponds for me and Ayaar. My husband did not have enough money for our 9 year old daughter, Akec, so we had to leave her behind." (Frontline Fellowship, Nov 95)
The Illuminati held a secret meeting in Toronto, Canada, in June, 1967. Amongst its objectives: The implementation of a world leisure society with sex, drugs, sports and exotic vacations; Infiltration of radio, TV, Movie, and Music industries, as well as newspapers to influence people; Attack the Christian family through the "right of individuals" to be what they wish to become; Implement everywhere "Offices for the protection of Children"; Implement new laws that will force the people to accept "cults" as acceptable religions; To force all people to respect the freedom of all people to do anything they wish; Achieve the bankruptcy of family farming in order to push most rural populations into large cities where they will become fully dependent; Financial institutions are to finance only those people and projects that will further the New World Order. (SE Christian Witness, 11/95)
La Trobe University is conducting a "National Survey of Rural Young People". The survey of Year 10 students consists of 27 pages, of which 23 pages ask intrusive questions of a sexual nature. (Biblical Fundamentalist, 12/95)
Human foetuses appear on the menus of Chinese restaurants as a delicacy and health tonic. Young prisoners are being executed, and their organs are harvested while their bodies are still warm. Their body parts are being sold by the Chinese government to Westerners desperate for kidneys, hearts, livers, corneas, etc. (Focus on the Family, 8/95)

Dr Jack Westman, pyschiatry professor at the University of Wisconsin, has worked with abused children for 30 tears. He argues that parenthood is a privilege to qualify for, not a right. He suggests that parent licenses could be issued along with marriage licenses or birth certificates. (Des Moines Register, 3/9/95)
Joel Ford, a homosexual from Mississippi, has filed suit in a federal court against the Oxford University Press- whom he claims owns the copyright on the Bible- demanding both $45 million in damages and the immediate deletion of all Scripture verses describing homosexuality as sinful. He says the Bible has abused and oppressed him. (Biblical Fundamentalist, 11/95)
A Newcastle child-care centre's accreditation is at risk- government support may be withdrawn. All because the children say grace before lunch. (Newcastle Herald, 21/9/95)
Sweden's drivers will have new licences within three years. The new Electronic Driver's Licence (EDL) will replace car keys, steering locks, and ignitions. Onboard computers will stop drivers doing long stretches behind the wheel. Police will be able to shut a car's engine by remote control, if it is stolen, or if the driver has unpaid fines or registration. (The Sunday Telegraph, 20/8/95)
Alan Corbett, a NSW MP, plans to introduce a Bill which will ban corporal punishment from all schools. (Sydney Morning Herald, 19/9/95)
Bill Gates of the giant Microsoft Corporation has pledged to speed up the establishment of banking via home computers, and interactive television services. Consumers will use their smart cards to make purchases by simply swiping the card through a slot.

Saudi Arabian Christians who convert from Islam are subject to the death penalty. Christian worship, literature and Bibles are strictly prohibited. (Prophecy Today 2/94)
"We are going to turn South Africa into a Muslim state", said Yousuf Deedat, Secretary-General of the Islamic Propagation Centre. "We have the money to do it." A number of wealthy Arab states, including Libya's Moammar Gaddafi, are willing to provide finance to spread Islam. Farouk Cassim, an MP of the Inkatha Freedom Party described the plan as probably "the biggest revolution to sweep Africa". (South African Sunday Times 22/10/95)
The US Government (Senate Bill S.269) proposes to enforce a national ID system. From 1999, employers must receive authorisation from the national computer database before hiring any new employee. If the person's name is not in the database he cannot work. It is conceivable that the government could dictate who small business can employ- dependent on whether their attitude is politically correct or not. (Christian Conscience, 10/95)
Lindsay Williams, former executive of Hughes Missiles Systems, was privy to secret details of microchip scanning and tracking projects. He says: "By the year 1995 ... there will be a fibre optics system in place with all of the related equipment, satellites, and everything necessary to track every automobile on every road in the state of California." Williams fears that the "Advanced Traffic Management System" means a loss of freedom for Americans: "if we allow it to happen, we have become slaves on the highways of California by 1995, and in the entire United States of America by 1997." A transponder is fitted to new cars; it will effectively be a "vehicle tracking/control system".
Dr Carl Sanders, quoted in the "Monetary and Economic Review", says that there is a system of many satellites now with the ability to track microchips implanted in humans. "We used this with military personnel in the Iraq war where they were actually tracked using this particular type of device."
Dr Daniel Man, a plastic surgeon in Miami has patented a chip that could locate lost children or find Alzheimer's victims who wander away. The device would emit a signal that could be monitored through a cellular system, and possibly by satellites. Jack Dunlap is developing a similar child locator system, called KIDSCAN.
Colorado Parole Officer Max Winkler believes that by the year 2001 microprocessor chips will be injected into prisoners as an electronic supervision method. It could be programmed to release drugs or tranquillisers into the bloodstream of the prisoner if they displayed anti-social behaviour.
(From "New Dawn", 6/95)
Federal Health Minister Carmen Lawrence is examining a proposal to insert a smart computer chip into the Medicare Card. The card will store the holder's personal information, including a full health history, and drug and medicine requirements. The implications for privacy are enormous. One small smart computer chip can store large amounts of information on an individual. Information that can be used and abused by anybody who can gain access. How long will it be before the government proposes it store other personal data like drivers license details, one's photograph or DNA, and "electronic" cash substituting credit cards, all in the name of inconvenience?
In 1988, the then treasurer, Paul Keating, assured the Australian people that the Tax-file Number system was solely for the tax office for purposes of identification and to help reduce tax evasion. It is now used for several agencies to exchange information from its computer databases. In April 95 taxation officials announced they were installing an advanced computer system capable of delving even deeper into a wealth of information, both public and private, including motor registries, electricity and gas authorities, the Lands Title Office, local councils, and even the Yellow Pages. The Australian Government thus has a de facto national identity bank on its citizens.

The American Federation of Teachers proposes a "Certificate of Mastery", already in use in Germany. By the age of ten, the future of each child is determined- teachers lock them into a career path. The government keeps a close record on the students' lives, by a complex system of record keeping- results of attitude testing, thought processes, values and beliefs. Students are monitored and tracked; their personal details are fed into a "Worklink" database accessible to employers. The Certificate has an emphasis on attitude and thinking skills-not whether you think, but how and what you think. The database determines what future work the student can get, dependent on his "attitude and social manners".
"Assessments" are coded into the database. The "Education for the Future Initiative" defines "assessment" as "the act or result of judging the worth or value of something or someone". Educational testing will thus confer a value on a person's worth to society.
The Certificate of Mastery will impact all workers: those in the workforce who don't have one will be referred for retraining. The workforce will be increasingly controlled, as workers will have to meet "skill standards". Through detailed tracking, intense monitoring, and ever increasing regulations the government will control all aspects of business. Those who fail to adopt the correct attitude and behaviour face the penalty of denial of employment opportunities.
"Mastery Learning"(ML) or "Outcome-Based Education" (OBE) is already used to teach 50 million children around the globe. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) is committed to "Mastery Learning" all over the world. One of the main proponents, Dr. Alan Cohen, refers to children as "animals". Prof. Hurd from Stanford University states that OBE/ML is the Soviet/Russian system of education.
Researcher, Berit Kjos, author of "Brave New Schools" compares ML and modern education reforms with the tyranny exercised by the Nazis over their education system in World War II. She shows that education reforms aim at a global socialism with a cradle-to-grave surveillance. Parallels with Nazi Germany's strategy are: Change the children first. Condition students to compliance. Teach the "right" beliefs, values and ideology; the politically correct standards for right and wrong. Condition students for the new social and economic order. Restructure schools and nationalise tests and standards. Reject old authority figures through critical thinking and values clarification. Block the influence of parents, contrary models, and traditional culture. (Christian Conscience, 10/95)
The United Nations is being treated as a defacto world government. The World Federalist Association is the leading organisation working for world federal government. It is "step by step... using the UN... national sovereignty would be gradually eroded until it is no longer an issue. Eventually a World federation can be formally adopted with little resistance." The World Federalist Movement states that "the UN already is a kind of sovereign world government". The UN secretary-general, Boutros-Ghali has said: "It is undeniable that the doctrine of absolute and exclusive sovereignty no longer stands... In this setting the significance of the UN should be evident and accepted." "Blueprint for the Peace Race" calls for the strengthening of the UN Peace Force "until it had sufficient armed forces and armaments so that no state could challenge it."
The UN 4th World Conference on Women held in Beijing in September had an atheistic, anti-family focus. Radical feminists aim for "the deconstruction of gender". They hope to eliminate such terms as "husband, wife, son, daughter, sister, brother, manhood, womanhood, masculine and feminine". It is a plan to get rid of traditional sexuality in order to destroy patriarchy.
Australian economy down the gurgler: Keating says "This is as good as it gets".
Australian male unemployment is now four times greater than it was 25 years ago. Australia is bankrupt: the level of foreign debt is an estimated $210 billion. The foreign ownership of Australian companies totals 100 per cent in the motor vehicle industry, 86 per cent in banking, 82 per cent in insurance, and 95 per cent in processed food. Qantas is now effectively controlled by British Airways. The remaining government shares in the Commonwealth Bank are about to be sold off. Whoever wins the election, Telstra- worth anything between $15 billion and $30 billion- will be auctioned, inevitably going to an overseas buyer such as National Mutual. The average Australian family is paying almost three times more of its earnings in income tax than it did 20 years ago, and is receiving fewer allowances to offset this tax grab. (SE Christian Witness, 11/95, quoting B.A. Santamaria & Bob Gregory)
The government is taxing us into poverty, as they squander $125,000,000,000 a year, taking $35,500 from each of the 3,500,000 income earning families. State and Local Government take most of what is left. We are, per head, the most richly endowed nation on earth, yet we are deeper in debt than even the most villainous, stupid, primitive, unstable banana republics on earth. We have higher unemployment and higher interest than any of the world's reasonably civilised nations on earth. The ALP is selling our hospitals, jails, airlines, freeways, bridges, town water, railways, trams, electricity, airports, Commonwealth Bank, ANL (Shipping), the Moonie gas pipeline, CSIRO, Commonwealth Serum Laboratories, inland and ocean fishing rights, Australia Post- even our National Parks, Soon it will all be gone. (Tony Pitt, The Australians, Maryborough, Qld)
Simon Davies, author of "Big Brother- Australia's growing web of surveillance" says that a Global information infrastructure is being formed. One by one, governments and corporations across the world are linking the information contained in their computers. We are seeing the construction of a borderless, global information economy. Society is becoming tuned into consensus, compromise, agreement and conformity.
Jim writes from Mt Gambier: I'm the gaol signwriter and resident artist. I do all te signs about the place and Christian cards and posters. I'm doing what I love and getting paid for it. Isn't God great? I received the latest Fair Dinkum. I love that little magazine. Alone in my cell I can spend time reading and sharing what my brothers and sisters the world over have to share in either testimony, observations, and stories. God bless them all.
The founder of computer company Microsoft, Bill Gates III, is now the world's richest man. His name, his products, MS DOS 6.21, and Windows 95, have the numerical value in ASCII computer language of 666.
A 105-year old thought to be Australia's oldest man has died. Mr Norman Robinson died in March in a retirement village on Sydney's north shore. "He had a very fine mind.. and had very high values", said his daughter, Mrs Joan Brown. "He was always a Christian, but made a strong commitment at the age of 102." (Advertiser, 29/3/95)
It is estimated that each poker machine in South Australia turns over about $800 a day. Gambling in South Australia, on poker machines alone, is now a $3 billion industry. Small retailers have suffered a 7.8 per cent decline in sales since the advent of pub pokies. The chance of winning "the Jackpot" in the Lotto is about 12 million to one. (SE Christian Witness, 9/95)
Australia's Defence Force is seriously undermanned. The Defence Dept gave 108,000 smallarms to BHP to melt down. The Austeyr F88 rifle now in use is subject to magazine jamming, breakages, and
its plastic parts melting. The Melbourne ADI ammunitions factory has had to recall 15 million rounds of their ammunition as it is dangerous. (SE Christian Witness, 11/95)
He came because He loved us,
From regions above.
He came to lift the fallen,
And bring down the Father's love.
He came down those stairs of glory
To bring to crestfallen man
A way of life and contentment,
To show him God's great plan.
(D. Dean, Brisbane)
Backward Christian Soldiers,
fleeing from the fight,
With the cross of Jesus clearly out of sight:
Christ our rightful Master stands against the foe,
But forward into battle we are chicken to go.
Like a mighty tortoise moves the church of God;
Brothers we are treading where we've often trod,
We are much divided, many bodies we,
Having different doctrines, not much charity.
Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
But the church of Jesus hidden does remain;
Gates of hell should never 'gainst the Church prevail,
We have Christ's own promise, but think that it will fail.
Sit here, then, ye people, join our useless throng;
Blend with ours your voices in a feeble song.
Blessings, ease, and comfort, ask from Christ the King.
With our modern thinking, we won't do a thing.
(The Challenge, 9/95)
The word Children literally means "the builder of the family name". It is not right to call our children "kids", "brats", "monsters"... It's exciting to see what God calls them:
(Kevin Ekert, Ettalong Beach, NSW)
"Here is my fifteen month-old son. Who wants him? I'll give all my money to whoever gives him a home", cried the young Christian mother as the multitude gathered for her martyrdom. Her husband had died earlier.
A father of 6 children took the child, together with the bag of money. In the bag he found a letter the mother had written that eventful morning. Here is part of that letter:
"My son, hear the instruction of your mother... Behold, I go today the way of the prophets, apostles and martyrs, and drink of the cup of which they all have drank.
Take heed, them, my son, the way of the Lord does not have any side roads. This road is found by few and trodden by even less. In truth, there are many that know this is the road to life eternal. But the road is too hard.
Because of this, my son, do not regard the multitude of sinners. Don't walk in their ways, because they go to hell as sheep go to their slaughter. When you hear of a little flock- poor, simple, and rejected by the world- unite yourself with them. Because Christ is where the cross is. Don't separate yourself from that place.
Oh, my son, that your life would be conformed to the Gospel! That the God of peace would sanctify your soul and body to His glory! Amen.
Oh, holy Father, sanctify the son of Thy servant. Keep him from evil for Thy name's sake, oh, Lord!"
A few hours after writing this, Anneken was drowned for her faith in Jesus
Christ. January 24, 1536. (Lamp and Light Publishers)
